Our 1WAY events are high energy evenings with games, multimedia, drama, dance and the 1WAY band. We come together with hundreds of young people to worship Jesus and to hear from God's word.
From 1st - 5th December 2009 Crown Jesus Ministries in partnership with Larne Grammar S.U. organised a special outreach week in the school, which climaxed on the Friday night with a major Christmas themed event.
The week of various lunchtime events started on Tuesday with a tense game of Deal or no Deal in the sports hall, with contestant Clifford Kirkpatrick winning a Nintendo DS. Wednesday saw professional juggler and fire breather Ture Holm, performing as well as sharing how he came to know Jesus.
On Thursday Colin Ross, Irish Downhill Mountain Bike Champion was the guest, showcasing his talents by performing various stunts and much to every pupils delight jumping over 10 teachers on his bike! Like Ture, Colin provided yet another powerful testimony for Christ. For the final lunchtime event; Harry Bruce, a Beat Boxer came into show off his skills and share about his walk with Jesus. Each lunch time event was well attended as hundreds of pupils turned up each day to meet the special guests and to hear about the Lord.
Friday Night arrived and so did Christmas in Larne Grammar as the 1-Way outreach event kicked off. The entire hall was decked out for the occasion as the Crown Jesus dance team kicked off the night before handing over to hosts Stee and Phil along with special guest - Glentoran star Michael Halliday. Michael shared his testimony and what its like to be a Christian in sport.
Throughout the week the pupils of Larne Grammar had been voting for a teacher to be gunged - the votes were counted and the unfortunate winner was Miss Parker. The night finished with a powerful drama and a challenge delivered by Pip. Over one hundred pupils responded to the talk, with forty first-time commitments.
God really blessed our time in Larne Grammar and we give Him all the praise and glory. If you were at the Larne event, why not leave a message on our Guest Book? |
