The summer of 2009 saw the vision of Camp Ireland lift to another level as three separate camps took place in the West of Ireland Centre, Sligo.  One hundred and seventy young people (between the ages of 11 and 14) and leaders attended.  Camp Ireland is an amazing programme of outdoor pursuits designed to help young people on the edge of church life build a deeper relationship with their youth leaders.  The hope is that from this young people will commit more to the youth programmes in their church and ultimately to Christ.

Even heavy rain on the third week of camp could not dampen the enthusiasm of the young people.  Outdoor activities included archery, mountain biking, wilderness walks, snag golf and football, with many people’s favourite being the water sports on the lake.  Every night young people heard the Good News of Jesus presented in a relevant way and we praise God for those who responded to the invitation to make Jesus Lord of their lives. We also pray that stronger relationships with youth leaders will help lay a greater  platform for discipleship.
